Erik Per Sullivan, born in Worcester, Massachusetts on July 12th, 1991 to Fred and Ann Sullivan. Erik is an only child, and he lives with his parents in Franklin, Massachusetts. His father owns a Mexican restaurant, The Alamo, in Milford, Massachusetts.
Erik’s acting experience was limited to school plays up until 1998, when his father heard of an advertisement for ëextrasë in the movie ëArmageddonë that was being filmed in the area. He took Erik to the casting call, and Eric landed a small part, which was his movie debut. It was a total of 12 seconds in the final cut. The following year, he landed a major role in the movie ëThe Cider House Rulesë, as the little terminally ill orphan, ëFuzzyë. During his time on the set of ëCider Houseë he became good friends with the Director, Lasse Hallstrom. Eric’s mother is from Sweden, and Swedish was almost his first language, which he and Lasse spoke almost all the time off camera. When Cider House was nominated for an Oscar, it was Erick’s picture that was chosen to adorn the billboards promoting the movie. In John Irving’s book, ëMy Movie Businessë, one whole chapter is dedicated to Erik, as a result of his performance in The Cider House Rules.
On the heels of his success in Cider House, Erik landed the part of Dewey in a new situation comedy, ëMalcolm in the Middleë, when it debuted in 2000. Erik played the younger brother of co-stars Frankie Muniz and Justin Berfield. Malcom in the Middle was a smash hit and ran through 2005.
Erik has also appeared in several other movie roles, Joe Dirt, Wendingo, Unfaithful, and Christmas with the Kranks just to name a few.
Erik is an honor student and is a 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. His favorite activities are skiing, boogie boards and paint ball. He’s an accomplished musician, plays piano and alto sax, and his favorite music is jazz. His favorite musicians are Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix. As for food, he says he likes anything from pizza to lobster. Besides speaking fluent English and Swedish, he is also studying Japanese. In the summer, he studies at The Milford Performing Arts Center, in Milford Massachusetts.
