Movie description:
A young farmboy who can’t seem to communicate with his father develops an attachment to a young red pony.
In the Salinas Valley of California, young Jody Tilby lives on his family’s ranch with his parents, Carl and Ruth, who are constantly at odds, and with his rambling grandfather. Capturing Jody’s admiration, however, is the hired ranch hand, Billy Buck, a venerable horse expert. When his father gives him a pony as a gift, Jody learns the importance of responsibility, but also has to face the pain of loss.
