Puberty: Sexual Education for Boys and Girls is a candid and informative DVD for youngsters on the verge of puberty. The differences between the two sexes and every aspect of growing up, including wet dreams, menstruation, erections, marriage and love making, is examined in a positive and frank manner. The motive is to take an often difficult subject for parents to discuss with their children, and bring it out into the open in a fair and unbiased presentation. Puberty: Sexual Education for Boys and Girls is for parents who are committed to the proper sexual education of their child.
EDITORIAL REVIEW: Originally titled Sexuele Voorlichting (Sexual Information) this interesting, Belgium made, medical documentary talks about puberty, the changes one goes through during its initial stages, and growing up. Made in the early 1990’s, Puberty: Sexual Education for Boys and Girls is intended for European children 11-years-old and up and gives informal, and very unreserved, discussions and demonstrations using both live models and water-color diagrams. Proper hygiene for uncircumcised boys, and cleanliness for girls who are menstruating is also a subject that is discussed in-depth in a scene that is obviously sponsored by Johnson & Johnson® (considering all the J&J products, bearing their logo, that are neatly displayed like a TV commercial ... like shampoo, tampons, etc). Wet dreams, masturbation, erections »that cause tingly feelings«, proper use of a tampon, differences in penises (we told you it was a frank documentary!), relationships, sex and birth control are also subjects that are talked about. The love making scene is demonstrated by adults, and not as graphic as it sounds. Narrated by teenagers in the original language (Dutch, Flemish) and subtitled in English, you may even learn something new ... like how to insert a tampon! Oh those crazy Belgians! After the main feature there is a 10-minute documentary on just that – the crazy Belgians? No, a more extensive look at the the proper use of an O. B. Tampon.
